Interfaith Celebration for Healing the Rivers
Sunday, June 28, 4:00 PM
Water Reclamation Station by the Cal-Sag Waterfall
Blue Island, Illinois

In this time of environmental crisis, we must all act together to heal and renew the natural world. We invite people of every faith to be with us at 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 28, to take part in an interfaith celebration of healing and renewal for our rivers and lakes, the air and the water, and for the whole created world. We will meet at the CAL-SAG Waterfall in Blue Island, on Chatham Street, right beside the Cal-Sag Canal.  The location is two blocks south of Vermont Street and four blocks east of Western Ave.

Our celebration of environmental healing will be led by noted religious environmentalist, the Rev. Rod Reinhart, pastor of St. Joseph and St. Aidan Episcopal Church in Blue Island. Leaders of many different faiths will participate and call us to direct environmental action. With music, drumming, blessings and prayers, we will spiritually cleanse, exorcise and heal the rivers, air, water and land of our state and of our world.

We invite faith leaders and ecology activists to sponsor, publicize or participate in this act of environmental healing. To volunteer, or to receive more information, please call Father Reinhart at 708-528-9862, or Mr. Tom Shepherd at 773-370-3305.

Following the celebration, we invite you to a reception at the Rail Grill, just a short distance away on Vermont Street beside the METRA station.

Directions:     Take Western Ave to Vermont Street. Go East to Chatham (four blocks.) Go South to the Water Reclamation District Park.
